I had the great fortune to live in Paris for three and a half years. While I lived there, I often went to the English bookstore Shakespeare and Company on the Left Bank, not only because I am a book lover, but it also acts as a sort of hive for literary and artistic expats in the city. Fast forward ten years and I met a woman who used to live above the bookstore and had a paper photo from her time there which I recreated, capturing the bookstore as it was a couple decades ago, including a little old wishing well that used to be in the center of the bookshop.
